For this project I used Adobe Illustrator to create a series of polygonal shapes which would then be used to design the likeness of an animal. I started by first finding a picture of a shark to serve as an outline for the shapes. Next using the pen tool I drew numerous shapes which matched the outline of the animal. I chose to use varying shades of gray and white to mimic the distortion of light under water and reflect the imagery of the ocean. While drawing these shapes I had to ensure that I properly connected all the shapes to each other so that there would be no blank spaces within the sharks body. This process was very time consuming as I wanted to draw many small shapes as this is what I felt would yield the best result opposed to a few larger shapes. Then the next step for me was to fill in the shark with color, I did this buy manually selecting the shapes I wished to make a certain color and then using the fill tool.
